Rita Meeks professional career includes over 27 years of salon and spa industry experience. In 1989, Rita began her career as an apprentice to the late Vivian Haven, founder and past president of the NC Aestheticians Association. Rita is a licensed cosmetologist and aesthetician, is certified in permanent cosmetics, and holds a diploma from the American Business and Fashion Institute.
Rita specializes in treating a variety of skin care concerns, including acne-prone and sun-damaged skin. Rita enjoys providing her permanent cosmetics clients with a natural look that enhances their features, and specializes in a hair stroke method for brows that achieves a very realistic look. She also provides areola repigmentation for reconstructive breast cancer patients, and is certified in oncology aesthetics. She holds state certifications in microdermabrasion and chemical peeling, and trained at the American Institute of Permanent Color Technology in Tustin, CA, for permanent cosmetics. She is a member of the American Micropigmentation Association, the Allied Health Association, and has volunteered for Look Good, Feel Better for the American Cancer Society.

Kathy Pressly has been with Simply Skin since its inception. She received her training at the National Aesthetics Institute in Charlotte, NC, and is a licensed aesthetician. Kathy is state-board certified in microdermabrasion and holds additional certifications in chemical peeling, LED light therapy, SkinPen microneedling and dermaplaning.
As a volunteer with the American Cancer Society, Kathy conducted classes for the Look Good, Feel Better program for more than 9 years. This led her to pursue and receive advanced certification in Oncology Aesthetics.
Kathy’s continuing education and excellent knowledge of skin care therapies allows her the ability to analyze and treat any skin type. Kathy specializes in anti-aging protocols and a variety of additional skin care treatments. Her main goal is to help her clients achieve results.
Susan Hand has been with Simply Skin since 2006 as a full time receptionist and Office Manager. A former teacher and stay at home mom. Susan also has 16 years salon and spa experience, and works hard to insure that our schedule fits our clients’ needs.
Amy Leavitt joined the staff at Simply Skin in 2014. She received her training at the Aveda Institute of Charlotte in 2007, and is a licensed esthetician. Amy is state-board certified in microdermabrasion, chemical peels, SkinPen micro needling, and dermaplaning. She is also a certified Babydoll Lash technician. Amy loves to see clients achieve noticeable results through a combination of the appropriately prescribed professional treatments and carefully selected home care.
Kim L. Crosby, MD, FACS, joined Simply Skin in 2016 as our medical director. Dr. Crosby graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago in 1991. She completed a 6-year residency in surgery at Cook County Hospital then went on to do a fellowship in thoracic surgery at the prestigious University of Chicago Pritzker Medical Center. She has practiced in Gaston and Mecklenburg counties since 1998.
Dr. Crosby began providing minimally-invasive cosmetic procedures in 2001 and was featured in an NBC Universal news segment on the cosmetic filler Selphyl in 2009. She is board certified in surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Crosby owns Harmony Medical Spa in Gastonia where she specializes in cosmetic injectibles to refresh and rejuvenate the appearance of both men and women. She is available monthly at Simply Skin for clients wishing to receive BOTOX.
